Sew Together Workshop, Sewing Machine Basics, 3+ Hour hands on learning in my studio
I love sewing. I’ve been sewing for decades but the only sewing course I ever took was Home Economics back in grade school.
Fast forward a few years and I have my own textile studio where I get to make the loviest things every day.
I know so many of you would love to learn how to sew. In 2020 I just started hosting in-studio sewing lessons. The one-on-one instructions were so fun to host. I love being able to teach again and see my clients beam with their sewing successes. Sadly, due to the shut-downs I had to stop offering in-person sewing lessons.
I’m so happy to say that now they’re back! Yay!
This Sew Together session is for two people to learning sewing basics together. If you want to add another person, please send me a message first.
Location: This introduction to your sewing machine course is an in-person sewing instruction course that is hosted in my studio, which is on the second floor of my little log cabin, located in Douro-Dummer Ontario. I live in a rural area in cottage country surrounded by trees. I have ample parking and a maintained road to my little cabin in the woods, so it’s quite easy to get to.
Duration: Each course is over one day from 10am-1 (ish) or from 1-4pm (ish), it always takes a bit longer than three hours so I add grace time at the end of each session
When: The day for this instruction is determined by us in a conversation after your purchase. I try as much as possible to be flexible to off the time of day and day of the week that best suits your schedule
Equipment: The course consists of learning the basics of threading and sewing with a domestic sewing machine. I use an electronic Janome C30 as my teaching machine. But I have a Pfaff manual sewing machine for those who prefer learning on a Manual sewing machine
You can bring your own sewing machine to learn on if you have already purchase one and know that it’s in good running condition.
What’s Included: Your sewing basics instruction day includes the small learning project fabrics that you worked on for the day. In this introductory you normally finish a pillow cover but this project can be determined by what you want to learn to make.
How does it work: you purchase your sewing instruction hours and then send me an email with your scheduling request through my shop email If you don’t use email, once your purchase is completed I send an introductory message with my contact info including my phone and social media details
